| November 7, 2012 Dear parents/guardians,The eventful month of October has bid us farewell and November is embracing us with its sweet cold kiss. I would like to begin with a short reminder that the temperature is quickly cooling down therefore wearing warmer clothes could only be beneficial. October review: During the last month, in science and technology, students presented their research on a celestial object to the class. Personally, I think the kids did an awesome job. Their models were out-of-this-world and the information they shared with their classmates was excellent. In social sciences, we have been working on commerce. Students worked on choosing/designing a product to sell, to calculate profit and loss and to trade goods with others. Finally, in French, we have worked on deciphering/understanding questions, writing a newspaper article and looking at the parts that make up a newspaper article. November announces itself to be quite an interesting month. We are going to wrap up the space module of Science and Technology and begin our adventure into electricity. We are going to continue looking at and learning about Canada’s link to the world, and in French we are going to delve into writing our autobiographies, reading and listening to an autobiography written by a WWII veteran and work on developing our French vocabulary. I have decided to reintroduce «dictées» to the students. The goal is to continue developing/extending their vocabulary.Special events for November: Nov. 7
